More Conventional Lodgings

In Stockholm there are lodgings to suit almost every taste and pocketbook. From the simplest bed-and-breakfast to the most luxurious custom-designed hotel, almost all offer friendly service and will help you with questions concerning the city and what’s going on here.

Some of the larger chains that have hotels or motels in Stockholm include Scandic, Hilton, Radisson, Best Western International, Elite Hotels of Sweden, Quality Inns, Ramada International, and Sheraton Hotels and Resorts. Sometimes independently owned and operated hotels, such as the Hotel Diplomat or Hotel Tegnérlunden, provide a homier atmosphere, of course, but in any case the choices are almost unlimited. For parents—or whoever is making your travel plans—a selected list of Internet links to lodgings in Stockholm follows. You’ll find useful telephone numbers and addresses at each of these sites:

Here’s a tip: When you’re looking for hotels (or any other tourist information) online, keep in mind that on Swedish websites, you’ll often see a small British flag somewhere. Click on that flag and you’re almost certain to be linked to an English language version of the Swedish site.
